REIMAGINE
"So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; look, new things have come into being!" 2 Corinthians 5: 17

How It Began
Since our inception in 1949, St. John’s has been a community of believers loving our neighbors, pouring into the next generation, and welcoming people with open hearts.
For years, our leadership recognized that our campus needed care. But we also knew something important. St. John’s is more than a sanctuary more than the tree, the green space, and the buildings. It’s a compassionate, diverse church family placed in the heart of West Los Angeles for God’s purpose.
So when we began planning a capital campaign, we asked a deeper question. Are we only fixing what’s old… or are we preparing for what’s next?
Over the last 18 months, the church listened through interviews, surveys, meetings, small groups, and shared conversations until the message became clear: we should consider the future direction of St. John’s, not just refurbish a building. That’s when the Renewal Campaign was born.
At its core, this is about stewardship and faithfulness being a strong link in a long chain of believers, and passing the keys to a welcoming, functioning house of worship that helps us offer hospitality and fellowship to our neighbors.
REVITALIZE
"But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40: 31

What’s Happening Right Now
Renewal is active. The projects below are the same priorities we committed to from the beginning and your pledge follow-through is what keeps them moving.
This section is where we share what’s currently underway, what’s next, and how Renewal support is being put to work. Some projects are visible (repairs and upgrades you can see right away). Others are foundational (staffing, ministry growth, and planning that sets the church up for the future).
If you’ve made a pledge, this is your reminder that it matters. Your faithfulness directly supports these ongoing efforts.

RESPOND
"When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble;
I will rescue them and honor them." Psalm 91: 15

Join Us In Renewal
Renewal isn’t something we watch it’s something we participate in. If you’ve made a pledge, this is your moment to follow through. If you’re ready to serve, there are specific areas that need people right now
Thank you for being part of Renewal not just by reading about it, but by responding with faithfulness. Every fulfilled pledge, every prayer, and every hour volunteered helps St. John’s become more welcoming, more connected, and more ready for the work God has for us next. Renewal is bigger than a list of projects it’s a shared commitment to see this church with fresh eyes and to strengthen it for the generations who will come after us. If you’ve pledged, thank you for following through. If you’re ready to serve, there is a place for you. And if you’re still discerning, we invite you to pray with us and stay connected as Renewal continues.
