THE CONGREGATION Congregational Life St. John’s is an intimate, loving community of about 290 members with an additional 120 children from birth to sixth grade. We are multigenerational and multiethnic – a mixture and balance that richly blesses our fellowship and worship. About sixty percent of our members participate in small groups for Christian fellowship and Bible study. We warmly invite you to our 10:15am Sunday worship service. Afterward, come make new friends under the shade of the enormous fig tree overhanging the church patio. Quotes from some members or frequent attendees “I was forced to come for the baptism of my daughter. The sermon preached was against segregation and the action of the people told me to stay. That was in October of 1997 and I keep recommending this church to my (Cameroonian) friends and family. If we all came on one day, there would be 30 of us now, not including children.” Philip A. “I come here because every Sunday morning Bill brings me coffee and I can go into the church by myself quietly and say my prayers. Pastor Steve is a great Reverend.” John L. “I find God here. This is my family. My (biological) family is scattered all over the world but I feel at home here. I am a transplanted stranger who finds roots at St. John’s.” Mickey L. “It’s a family of worshippers I feel I belong to. I’ve grown in my daily walk with God as a result. Otherwise, I’d be doing my own selfish things.” Donna R. “St. John’s gives me a church family. It’s like my own family of origin – it’s dysfunctional at times but it works!” Esther J. “True Christianity. True People. That’s life at St. John’s.” Kuji M. “It’s the love. People who don’t even know you care about you and are willing to help in any way they can. I don’t know where I’ve ever been in such a place where I feel so much love.” Jessica “Like the Moreton Bay fig tree, I have roots here; faith roots and family roots.” Jim L. “The praise music is out of this world!” Bryan B. “Great tree! The Lifegroups offer a unique intimate small group experience for a seeker. I was in one of those groups and it was cool!” Scott M. “I come to St. John’s to worship and I love the people here. It feels like a family.” Sang Mi K.
